Currently we provide every teacher a laptop (Mac or PC) loaded with:

• CPS (Classroom Performance System)

• Basic Computer Programming Software - Scratch (Elementary)
• Presentation Software - PhotoStory on the PC
• Visual organizer software - CMAP (High School), Inspiration (Middle School), or Kidspiration3.0 (Elementary School)
• 2 web-browsers - Firefox and Safari on the Mac; Firefox and Internet Explorer on the PC
• Music/Podcast Library and Directory - iTunes on the Mac; Media Player on the PC
• Photo-editing software - iPhoto on the Mac; Gimp on the Mac/PC
• Movie-making software - iMovie on the Mac; Windows Movie Maker on the PC
• Audio podcast software - Garageband on the Mac; Audacity/Lame on the PC

Teacher machines are imaged and ready to go after in-processing.

Technology Student Resources

• Elementary School Student resources:
  • Kidspiration3 - Visual Organizer for Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies with a whole section of Math Virtual Manipulatives
  • Google Earth - This is globe software that puts pictures, videos, data, and more in the real places they occurred on the Earth. Access to Stars, Planets, and Constellations is available in the Sky portion. Access to Google Mars is available in the Mars section.
  • PhotoBooth (For MacBooks in Mobile Labs or Flat-Panel iMacs) - Operates the camera built into the newer Apple computers. There are special effects that can be added to the pictures and video clips taken by this software. The photos can be transferred to iPhoto with a single button click.
  • iPhoto - Photo Library/Photo Editing software
  • iMovie - Movie/Video Podcast Creation Software
  • Garageband - Music/Audio Podcast Creation Software
  • iTunes - Music/Podcast Library and Directory
  • TuxPaint - Digital Drawing Program
  • Dictionary (On Macs Only) - Digital dictionary that searches and shows results for definitions, thesaurus entries, and Wikipedia
  • Firefox and Safari - Web browsers; Our student machines have 2 browsers because some websites will work with one and not the other or they may work better with one than the other.
• Secondary School Student resources: Mobile Computer Labs - approximately one per team in Middle School. High School resources, currently at approximately one mobile lab per department, and being added. Expect a 2:1 ratio in the English department, a 1:1 ratio in the Business department, and approximately a 4:1 ratio in the Science, Social Studies,and Math departments. Ask about mobile lab availability and check out procedures in your school! Most mobile labs in the Middle and High schools are PCs.
